DCLA DIAMOND GUARANTEE
DCLA DIAMOND GUARANTEE
A diamond that has been graded and independently certfied by DCLA is guaranteed to be:
1. Accurately graded in accordance with the International Diamond Council and CIBJO standards for grading polished diamonds.
Incorrectly graded diamonds can represent a substantial loss to the consumer. The DCLA grades to the internationally accepted standards set by CIBJO and the IDC using accurate reference materials and procedures as set out by those bodies.
2. A natural mined diamond free of all known treatments.*
Synthetic diamonds and treated diamonds are of significantly lower value than their natural counterparts. The DCLA do not issue certificates for synthetic diamonds nor diamonds treated to enhance colour or purity.*
3. Conflict free and from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict.
Conflict diamonds, although negligible in numbers, represent a significant threat to consumer confidence and the appeal and status of diamonds as the symbol of love. The industry, together with governments and NGOs, developed the Kimberley Process and put in place a System of Warranties. DCLA subscribes to the System of Warranties.

Independently Certified Diamonds
Independently Certified Diamonds is an initiative developed by the Diamond Certification Laboratory of Australia (DCLA) to help the diamond consumer locate reputable Australian diamond jewellers dedicated to the fair, ethical, and honest sale of diamonds and diamond jewellery.
All ICD jewellers are committed to providing customers with diamonds examined and graded by qualified and reputable laboratories, grading to internationally recognised standards for accurate and unbiased evaluation of their diamonds. These laboratories are recognised for their procedures, technical ability and cutting edge equipment necessary to analyse and grade diamonds.
Furthermore, these laboratories are genuinely independent of any retailers, manufacturers, and wholesalers, having no commercial gain from the sale of any diamond. This assures an unbiased and objective assessment of the diamond - a conflict of interest exists if the person selling the diamond also determines the grade.
ICD jewellers are specialists in diamonds and diamond jewellery, they manintain a very high standard of customer service, integrity, outstanding quality and value.
Neither the law nor the industry bodies make it obligatory to sell diamonds with a legitimate diamond grading report, therefore it is up to you to make sure you buy from a jeweller or retailer that does.
ICD jewellers are required to provide diamond certificates from internationally recognized laboratories with the satisfactory technology to identify and grade natural diamonds to the highest standards.

DDCA - Diamond Dealers Club of Australia employs very strict guidelines in screening applicants for membership, ensuring that they are knowledgeable, ethical, financially secure and fully insured. Only the leading diamond merchants, diamond dealers and diamond retailers are accepted for membership.
DDCA - Diamond Dealers Club of Australia is the 29th member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB). The WFDB prescribes rules of conduct internationally for members of affiliated diamond bourses.
